In Individual Events, 2 of our extempers advanced to elimination rounds. Zach Collins (Newton) advanced to semi-finals (top 14) in foreign extemp while Grant Hodges (Salina Central) advanced to quarter-finals (top 30) in domestic extemp. Both Allison Stuewe (Salina Central) & Brandon Daley (Salina Central) advanced to octa-finals in humorous interp. Sarah Pohl (Moundridge) advanced to quarter-finals in dramatic interp. Bre Roach (Sterling) advanced to octa-finals in original oration. Alexis Copeland (Hays) was a semi-finalist in Prose. In Expository Speaking, West Kansas proadly boasts the NATIONAL CHAMPION & RUNNER-UP. Allison Steuwe (Salina Cental) was the Champion with Bre Roach (Sterling) being named Runner-up.
In Student Congress, Sarah Shier (Salina Central) finished 5th in Senate while Rachel Shannon (Hutchinson) advanced to semifinals.
In Debate, Becca Rodriquez (Buhler) reached the initial break round of Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

In Individual Events, 3 of our extempers advanced to elimination rounds. Both Zach Collins (Newton) & Keenan Hogan (Lyons) advanced to quarterfinals (top 30) in domestic extemp, while Joey Ralph (Buhler) made it to semifinals (finished 12th) in foreign extemp. Josh Hafner (Great Bend) advanced to finals in Humorous Interp, finishing 6th while Illiana Krehbiel (Salina Central) finished 6th in Storytelling. James Hall (Salina Central) was a semifinalist in Storytelling. Dinkel/Stout (Garden City) were octafinalists in Duo Interp.
In Student Congress, Sarah Shier (Salina Central) finished 9th in Senate while Allison Steuwe (Salina Central) finished 18th in House while Hunter Hess (McPherson) advanced to semifinals.
In debate, both the policy team (Higgins/Harzman) and the public forum team (Kline/Lohf) from Salina South advanced to the initial elimination rounds.

Peckham finished 5th in the nation, while Stucky finished 4th. Trent Byquist (Salina Central) advanced to quarterfinals (top 30) in Domestic Extemp.

The Policy Debate team of Jill Koehler and Andrew Richards (McPherson) advanced 13 rounds and placed 8th. Michael Bretches and Scott Smith (Hutchinson) placed in the top 30 after advancing 10 rounds, and Bretches was the 4th Top Speaker overall.
In Student Congress, Jessica Johnson (Lyons) advanced to the Semifinal round of the Senate.
In Individual Events, three of our four extempers advanced to elimination rounds. Michael Bretches (Hutchinson) placed 7th in United States Extemp, and Karson Thompson (Garden City) advanced to the top 60. Matt Clark (Buhler) also advanced to the top 60 in Foreign Extemp. Emily Duerkson (McPherson) double broke, advancing to the top 60 in Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation. Chris French and Daniel Hedlund (Great Bend) advanced 10 rounds in Duo Interpretation, and Hedlund also advanced 8 rounds in Humorous Interpretation. Another Duo from Great Bend, Jarod Barton and Zach Ralston, advanced 8 rounds.
In supplementary events, Brock Wilbur from Salina South advanced to the Semifinals of Prose, and Aaron Payne (Garden City) placed in the top 30 of Extemp Commentary.
